The Presto Volunteer Fire Department is one of three volunteer fire departments currently serving the Collier Township community. The township is home to over 9,000 residents and businesses. We a 100% volunteer department that has continuously served the community since 1947.
Over the years, the department, as well as the community, has grown and gone through many changes. The current apparatus garage was built in 1998 due to space and safety concerns with ever increasing traffic on Thoms Run Road. The original fire station was also remodeled at that time, changing the existing garage space into a larger hall for fund raising events.
Current apparatus includes:
125 Engine 1:Pierce Arrow XT engine, 75 foot aerial, 1500 gpm pump with CAFS
125 Engine 2: International/Pierce attack engine, 500 gpm pump with CAFS
125 Rescue: Ford/Pierce medium rescue
125 Squad: Ford crew cab pickup
The Presto VFD provides fire protective services as well as specialized rescue services. The six line officers of the department have well over 130 years of experience in the fire and rescue service. We currently have on our roster: 1 PA State Instructor, 2 Fire Instructor 1s, 7 Firefighter 2s, 5 Firefighter 1s, 14 Basic Vehicle Rescue Technicians with added advanced rescue certifications,2 paramedics, 5 EMT 1, and various other fire/rescue/EMS certifications.
Whatever the call for help, this department is ready, willing, and able to respond with well trained, dedicated men and women, night or day, 24 - 7 - 365.
